Real drinking chocolate, made from cacao grown by a farm we know by name. Rich enough to feel like a treat. Good enough to be one — for your heart, in every sense.
You pour yourself into everyone else. This is the part of the day you pour something back. Morning or mid-afternoon — whenever you claim it, the ritual is the same.
Put it in the calendar like it matters — because it does. Ten a.m. or three p.m., the kettle going on is the boundary line.
Two spoonfuls, hot milk or water, a minute of whisking. Real chocolate melts — it doesn't dissolve instantly. That's the point.
No phone. No multitasking. Just the cup, the quiet, and the knowledge that this small thing is also caring for your heart.
Our hero. Stone-ground drinking chocolate flakes from one Ecuadorian farm — floral, deep, and naturally rich in cocoa flavanols. Nothing to hide, nowhere to hide it.
The gentler cup. Our single-origin cocoa with a touch of organic cane sugar and Madagascar vanilla. For the days that ask a little more of you.
Warmth on warmth. The Signature, kissed with spices the way cacao was first drunk — a slow, glowing finish for cold mornings and long afternoons.
Cacao is one of nature's richest sources of flavanols — the plant compounds studied for their role in supporting healthy circulation and blood flow. We keep ours minimally processed, because that's how the good stuff survives.
Minimally processed, never Dutched — so the naturally occurring flavanols stay in the cup.
Cacao's theobromine offers a soft, steady warmth — no spike, no jitters, no 4 p.m. crash.
The ritual matters as much as the cup. Five unhurried minutes is care for the other kind of heart, too.

Cacao's relationship with the heart is one of the most-studied topics in nutrition science. Here's what the strongest evidence actually shows — plainly stated, sources included.
In a 5-year randomized trial led by Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard, adults taking daily cocoa flavanols had 27% fewer deaths from cardiovascular disease than those on placebo — a secondary finding researchers called worthy of further study.
In 2023, the FDA issued a qualified health claim acknowledging that cocoa flavanols in high-flavanol cocoa powder may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease — one of very few foods to earn that recognition (while noting the supporting evidence is limited).
Cocoa flavanols support the body's production of nitric oxide, which helps blood vessels relax — the mechanism behind studied benefits for healthy circulation and blood pressure. Processing destroys flavanols, which is why ours is minimally processed and never Dutched.
Whole Heart Cacao is a food, not a supplement or medicine. Individual flavanol content varies by harvest. These findings describe published research on cocoa flavanols generally, not tests of this product. Always a good idea: talk to your doctor about your heart health.
Every tin of Whole Heart Cacao starts on a single family farm in Ecuador, home of the prized Nacional bean. We buy through transparent trade, visit in person, and publish exactly what the farm is paid — right on the label.
Single origin means exactly that. One farm, one harvest, one distinctive flavor — floral, fruity, unmistakable.
Our growers earn a premium well above the commodity price — and we publish the farmgate price with every harvest.
Scan the QR code on your tin to meet the farm, see the harvest, and read our full annual transparency report.
Chocolate has a sourcing problem. We think the answer isn't a certification sticker — it's a relationship you can verify. That's what "whole heart" means to us: nothing held back, on either end of the supply chain.
"I put 'cacao' in my calendar at 3pm like it's a meeting. It's the only meeting I never cancel. It tastes like actual chocolate — because it is."
"I gave up my second coffee for this and my afternoons are calmer for it. Knowing the farm gets paid fairly makes the treat feel even better."
"This is what I wanted self-care to feel like — not another thing on my to-do list. Five minutes, a beautiful tin, a genuinely gorgeous cup."
